Eggs

Our tasty eggs are from the Chicks of Catawba County who enjoy true Free-Range and Mostly Organic food sources.

  • The Chicks have lots of room on organically maintained land to free-range the majority of the day with a large coop and comfy nesting boxes when not exploring--much different than the “free-range, organic” commercially produced eggs. Google “commercial free-range organic chickens" for an eye-opening discovery of what "free range" and "organic" really mean in the commercial market. We do not use artificial lighting in the coop to maintain egg production levels in the winter, but let the seasons take their course.

  • No pesticides or herbicides are used on the Chick’s acreage.

  • Free range grazing is supplemented with locally-sourced grain feeds.

  • Free Range Eggs are amazingly healthy source-Mother Earth News

- 1/3 less cholesterol                - 1/4 less saturated fat
- 2/3 more vitamin A                - 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
- 3 times more vitamin E         - 7 times more beta carotene
  • Eggs are collected daily. We purposely do not refrigerate or wash the eggs to preserve the natural anti-microbial protective coating called “bloom”. We do keep the eggs in a cool, dry place between collecting and delivery. Some recommend washing the eggs just before use; it's a personal choice.
  • Our eggs are non-graded. This means in our standard dozen eggs, you could get anything from a medium to an jumbo egg, and even a double-yolker! However, most are jumbo size.

  • Bottom line. We think they're the best eggs you'll ever have. If you want cheap eggs, Sam's is about as cheap as you can get for mass-produced eggs.
